What is Pianoptikum?
Pianoptikum is my solo project as a pianist: piano music for all the senses – the piano at the centre, surrounded by everything that makes music audible, visible and tangible.
The music is freely improvised, ranging across jazz, blues, classical and pop. The spectrum spans from the melancholic to the virtuosic, from gentle lyricism to grooving pieces – no two concerts are alike.
Live
On stage I perform solo at the grand piano or together with accompanying musicians – for instance with drummer René Letters, and occasionally with singers or a full band. The concerts live in the moment: improvisation, interaction with the audience and the atmosphere of the evening decide where the journey goes.
Pianoptikum is also part of the charity concert series Was uns am Herzen liegt, bringing music to the stage for a good cause.
