Change sometimes begins with a text box. Type a question, wait a moment – and suddenly a machine writes answers, drafts images, explains code, translates thoughts or composes music. Within a few years, generative AI has gone from a niche technical topic to a shared public experience. At the same time, much of it remains hard to see through.
How do large language models work? Why do AI answers often sound so convincing? Where do their strengths and limits lie? And what new questions arise as AI increasingly becomes part of how we learn, work, create and decide?
The evening asks
- What can generative AI already do today?
- What is likely to become possible next?
- Where do we overestimate the technology?
- Where do we underestimate its impact?
- And how can we approach this change in an informed, creative and responsible way?
The talk invites the audience neither to celebrate AI naively nor to reject it reflexively – open to everyone, no technical background required.
